High Five, Employee!

It's not often that I get to hear/see things out in the Human Jungle that make me go 'Hell, yea!' and want to buy someone a coffee/beer, give them a hug or high five them. Which, honestly, is really very sad. So when I do encounter something like that, I want to shout it from the rooftops and let everyone know that despite the rude people you will continue to run in to, despite the news being morose as all hell and the internet being filled to overflowing with whining, bickering and drama... there are still some people out in the world, willing to be nice or call people on their bullshit.

I had a 'faith in humanity!' moment yesterday.

I was at the Local Craft Store looking for clearance lawn gnomes (no, I'm not making that up) and this woman in the next aisle began to yell at these two employees who are stocking the back wall about 25 feet away asking 'Do you have these things in stock?' Mind you, we walked in at the same time, so she seems to be in good health and could have walked up to these two young ladies to ask her question. But, no.

The employees didn't respond. So she yells louder and a bit condescendingly, 'YOOOO HOOO! I'm talking to you! Do you have these in stock?'

*Silence from employees*

"ARE Y'ALL DEAF OR JUST RUDE?!?" At this point I'm silently wanting to go over and punch her in the mouth, but another employee stepped up to her and says, no lie:

""As a matter of fact they are [deaf]. Since you are not, I'm going to assume that you're the one being rude. And no, we don NOT have that in stock." Before walking up to the two deaf employees to sign something to them. (I had looked at the employees after she yelled the second time and saw, clear as day, that they were signing to each other as they worked. Making this woman even more ridiculous.)

The rude woman turned beet red and booked it out of there, foot firmly planted in mouth. High five, sassy employee! High five, indeed!
