On Blood Moon night,
by the pale moonlight,
I sat down for tea with visitors three.
We reveled in the moonlight,
as our tea we did pour,
The chit chat by candlelight,
never began to bore.
As we sipped down our tea,
the leaves we did did swirl,
in cup bottoms we began to see,
shapes and futures unfurl.
A Heart?
A creature most fierce?
An Umbrella Carrier?
Perhaps you can tell me what shapes you do see,
in the soggy leaves left in cup bottoms by tea.
Thank you for stopping by! You can visit the other tea partiers by visiting our lovely host, Frosted Petunias Blog.

ReplyDeleteI had a grand time!
I see some kind of flying creature... and a broom. :) Not sure what that means. Loved your post... one of my favourites today. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely! Your candle-light cast a perfect ambiance. And I had fun figuring out what sorts of things I could see in the tea leaves.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! How fun with the tea leaves - I'd love to have mine read :-)
ReplyDeleteOhhh I havent read tea leaves for years! Thanks so much for reminding me! I see a man sitting on top of a tower reaching for the sky. Now I will have to do a reading for myself, thanks again for the tea!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! Love your blog!

Another wonderful post Danni! I love your photos. I just saw your tea ones on Flickr and loved them! Brought back so many memories of my aunt teaching me them as a kid. Might give it a wee go myself later, it's been way too long!
ReplyDeleteSorry I've not commented much recently, I have been stopping by for all your Halloween goodness though. You're really putting the rest of us taking part in your party to shame! Everyday you've something wonderful to share. I've been trying my best to be with my daily pledge but my activities have been restricted to an armchair as I've an old complaint playing up and I'm slightly incapacitated at the minute. Does eating a toffee apple a day count?
Oh, and I've been reading plenty of ghost stories and watching old horror flicks. I suppose that is seasonal! Anyway, thanks for all the wonderful posts! You're the best Halloween blogger out there!
Roisin x
p.s Glad (and not so glad) to hear about your eye. Try not to let it get you too down :( And just remember, you've a Blogland full of people wishing you the best. That means lots of virtual energy to channel!
p.p.s I almost forgot, thanks for your lovely comment on my wedding post! I loved the image you conjured with the mist and 'By Starlight'- perfect! And as for going to Italy to save money, well Ireland's just so damn expensive these days that anywhere would be cheaper! Ok, anywhere that's within budget flight range :)
Beautiful pics and reading tea leaves is always such fun! Lovely party! Thank you for sharing!

That was lovely! I am very impressed that you have such nice Tea ware for someone at such a tender age (a compliment, I assure you) Your verse was quite lovely also! From one Jersey girl to another, I wish you a happy Halloween. (Funny my son(now 24) left his beloved NJ for NC for 3 years and it now back home)

I love your blog and I certainly loved your tea party! Thank you so much for flying over to my Mad Hatter's Party and I wish you a Beautiful and Beweitching Samhain
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful! The dark and mysterious quality makes me think that the two figurines are actually little, mischevious creatures running about the table hoping not to be seen when the guests arrive!
ReplyDeleteIn the first picture of the tea leaves I see the profile of a man wearing a top hat in the top right hand corner. In the second I see another man with a top hat, but his head is towards the tops left hand side and he has his back turned towards us as a long cape flows behind him!
Beautiful! Sorry I'm late, hoping you'll drop by, I've kept the kettle hot! Happy Halloween & Pumpkin Blessings!

too many sweets for in the very second cup
I think I see a a grasshopper
trying hard to look up!
