On Midsummer eve beneath the red bud tree,
a Fawn and her friends gathered for tea,
There were ribbons colored many,
candies and treats galore,
But the fawn did not know,
what Cupid had in store.
A sound caught her ear,
the chubby birds quit chirping,
Then out of the woods,
A goat came a-lurking.
With a look most puzzling,
Closer he crept,
He presented the fawn a rose,
and off her feet she was swept.
They sipped and they nibbled,
One maybe guzzled,
They danced and made merry,
while the birds sang a tune.
And as the sun set on this midsummer tea,
A goat kissed a fawn 'neath the red bud tree.
I hope you all enjoyed my tale of tea, whimsy and mushy-stuff! If you want to see the rest of the photos, or view these ones larger, you can do so by clicking here to visit the Flickr set.
Thank you to Vanessa for once more hosting a tea party most mad and delightful, please visit her at A Fanciful Twist and make merry there before visiting some of the other tea partiers!

So sorry I am late
ReplyDeleteFor this important date.
I'm still making my way down the list.
With too little time
I'm leaving this rhyme
For I'm adamant about wanting to persist.
All this running about
Has left me dry in the mouth.
Might I have a cup of tea?
Your fawn and goat
and little bird too
are all so sweet as can be.
Oh my, the time
It goes so fast
I must be on my way
But fear not friend
I shall return
Please……Have a beautiful day.

This was absolutely and utterly fantastic! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get here my friend, it's certainly been a mad weekend. I had to go out yesterday so I'm still making my way through the party posts today. Anyway, just wanted to say that this is the best one I've come across! Oh Danni, that was precious and so much fun! Don't you love a reason to play?! Your goat was charming and what a good sport! I also loved your table, very festive and how fun to come out of the woods to see that. I have also been enjoying your blog and have happily signed up as a follower. The hobbit hole cottage on your banner is charming, is this your store? If so I will be on the next flight to your area to do some shopping! Thank you for visiting my silly Mad Catter cat nip and tuna tea party, I shall keep my fingers crossed for you to win the bird's nest hat.
