Kids are having a whale of a time playing Jack Sparrow, Hello Kitty, Monster High and Mario....we have a houseful of fictional characters. Not much else to do but enjoy the laughter and eat cookies and fudge.
The very first year Joe and I had apart from our families was spent in San Francisco...we went to Fisherman's Wharf and walked around. Ate lunch on the pier and enjoyed each other...no other pulls or pushes...it is one of my favorite memories of Christmas. Enjoy each other and Happy Everything my darling girl. We ended up having "Chule" this year so we could spend the day doing just that: loafing about and taking it easy munching on cookies and cake. :-) It was incredibly nice and we had a good time. Today, we're off to have dinner with relatives and last night we had dinner and games with my husband's brother and sisters. It was a lovely night too... but I'm glad we opted for Chule this year to have a special gift giving and fun day at home.

Brightest blessings to you all! And I hope your day is filled with happy memories in the making.

BirdBirdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03462066212434419271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5198853951847315100.post-86561310814773257212011-12-25T07:57:44.929-05:002011-12-25T07:57:44.929-05:00This is the first time in many years that we'l...This is the first time in many years that we'll be spending Christmas home by ourselves too. We were supposed to drive out to have dinner with the lovely Knickertwist family, but car troubles have kept us home instead. It'll actually be very nice to spend the whole day knowing that we won't have to go anywhere, see anyone or do anything but eat, drink and open presents. I'm sure one of them will be a book that I'll want to sit right down and read immediately - and I can!

I've realized this year that celebrating both Yule and Christmas is a good practice. Yule is the spiritual celebration and Christmas the secular one. Not too different from the way my Ukrainian ancestors celebrated, where Christmas Eve is the main religious event, and Christmas Day is spent mostly feasting and visiting neighbours. The Yule/Christmas pairing just separates the two celebrations a bit more.

You two have a lovely, cozy day!Wulfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05398018377191270401noreply@blogger.com
